Description

On our tour we will take a journey through the main legends, mysteries and curiosities that surround the oldest city in the West.

We will meet in the Plaza de San Juan de Dios where we will learn what it meant for the city to be the monopoly of trade and life in the city, highlighting the high percentage of slaves. We will also understand what has marked our idiosyncrasy: being a seafaring city, a city that has revolved, revolves and will revolve around the port.

We will enter the Barrio del Pópulo, a medieval quarter and later the nerve centre of the merchants. Witness of encounters and misunderstandings around stories of love, betrayals, hiding places, secrets and desires... many of them linked to the mysterious alleys of the Pirates and the Goblin.

Between the cathedrals we will find the most sacred place in the city and the one that concentrates the most energy. We will talk about the reverses of destiny in relation to two of the fundamental pieces of Spanish archaeology: the Phoenician sarcophagi. At this stop we will have the opportunity to discover the names that the city has received and we will learn about the origin of "la tacita de plata" (the little silver cup).

Walking through the Campo del Sur we will tell stories of pirates, ghost ships, underground caves... until we reach the church of Capuchinos, where many unanswered stories and a legend about one of the main figures of the Spanish Baroque: Bartolomé Esteban Murillo await us.

We will go into the Barrio de la Viña and we will talk about one of the spookiest mysteries of the city, we will continue to the place where the Grim Reaper could be seen and after visiting the Plaza de Mina and the Plaza de San Antonio we will arrive at the Alameda where secret hiding places, stories of jealousy and ghosts, picturesque legends to hide hurtful realities and much more await us.

Finally, we will visit the monument to the Cortes de Cádiz, where the figure of the mythological founder of the city will be waiting for us to learn about its history...
